The World's Largest Cruise Ship Has Set Sail

Royal Caribbean's Harmony of the Seas, the world's largest cruise ship, has set sail on a trial off the coast of France.

At 361 meters, Harmony of the Seas is longer than the Eiffel Tower is tall. The ship will primarily serve the Caribbean and Mediterranean regions.

The World's Largest Cruise Ship Has Set Sail

A sister to Royal Caribbean's giant Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas (the current record holders among cruise ships), Harmony is one of the most-anticipated new vessels in years. It will eclipse its siblings by more than 1,700 tons and hold nearly 100 more passengers at double occupancy. Its capacity is 6,000 guests. About 2,000 crew members will cater for their needs.

Harmony of the Seas is one of two new ships that Royal Caribbean is bringing into service this year.

The current trial continues until Sunday, and there will be another trial in April before delivery is set in May for the spring season.
