Norwegian Aura: A Big New Ship Set to Sail in 2027

Norwegian Cruise Line has officially unveiled its newest and largest cruise ship, Norwegian Aura. The vessel is scheduled to begin service from Miami in June 2027, following an initial debut in Europe in late May 2027.

Norwegian Aura will be slightly bigger than earlier ships in NCL’s fleet and able to carry around 3,840 guests. The ship will operate seven-night Caribbean cruises from Miami, visiting popular ports such as Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic, St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands, Tortola in the British Virgin Islands, and NCL’s private island, Great Stirrup Cay, in the Bahamas.

The design of Norwegian Aura focuses on outdoor spaces and activities, with features like expanded outdoor decks and plenty of places for guests to relax or enjoy views of the sea.

Working on a cruise ship isn’t like a typical job on land. It can mean long hours and living at sea, but many people enjoy the chance to travel, meet people from around the world and gain valuable experience in hospitality and tourism.

Why This Matters for Job Seekers

New ships bring fresh opportunities. As Norwegian Aura prepares to join the fleet in 2027, it’s likely NCL will be hiring crew to support the new ship’s operations and the growing number of guests it will carry.
